Tim Owens
Tim Owens literally woke up one morning and decided he was a comedian and he promoted comedy shows. People laughed. There was a guy here in Kankakee by the name of Tim Kilbride who was a comedian who flat out told Timo that he was a comedian and another one was not welcome in Kankakee. The owners of a failed club in Kankakee told Tim he would never make it. Local clubs wouldn't take a chance with him and his shows. So, what did Tim do? He gave them all a big shit burger to eat!
I'll be damned if Tim didn't stick to his dream and not only succeeded both as a performer and promoter, but his shows became the biggest draw in town. Since then, Tim has released his own cd, titled "Mr. Resilient".

On a personal note, had it not been for Timo, you would have never seen my face behind a microphone. Tim gave me my first shot and relentlessly promoted me. I went from running a video camera at his shows to regularly headlining them, releasing my own cd, and starting Looney Bin Comedy. Nothing you will ever see at The Looney Bin would have ever been possible had it not been for Tim Owens. Tim Kilbride said he couldn't do it. Well, now the comedy scene in Kankakee County is on fire.
I can't make it clear enough. Looney Bin Comedy and Tim Owens are not rivals. Everything done in this town will be coordinated accordingly where each show will happen on the other's down time. This is a cooperative effort. From time to time, Nick will still pop up at the TIMO show and TIMO will pop up at the Looney Bin. The goal is to make Kankakee a HUGE hot spot for comedy.
